A review from Redbeacon

I did a series of photo-shoots for Redbeacon a couple weeks ago.

Annual Student Magazine

I will sue Parazit show soon!

About a month ago, I wrote this post  about Copyright infringers by VOA’s Parazit show on my weblog. I didn’t take any legal actions about what they have done to that particular picture, as I knew that the hosts of the show were going to be in UC Berkeley and I thought it was better to talk to them in person about that issue. I went to UC Berkeley and here’s a short video of that day. On that day Parazit show’s hosts explained that using a picture without getting the permission from the owner was a mistake and they would never repeat such a mistake as they are very careful about these things.

But unfortunately, on last Friday (June 24th, 2011), they used another picture of mine in their show again which you can find it in here. (02:19 mins) – Parazit 11, Part one – June 24.

And here’s the original photo that I sent to UPI.

Anyway, they have used one of my pictures in their show without my written permission. Regarding publishing of that picture ( IRAN HANGED TWO MURDERED IN PUBLIC IN TEHRAN, captured on August 2,2007) on their show on June 24, 2011; as the copyright holder I am giving them this opportunity to pay me before taking legal action.
What they have done is against the copyright laws, and Parazit producers are responsible for cost of the usage of this picture.

Political Satire on Television (Copyright question)

I asked a question from Kambiz Hosseini and Saman Arbabi, host and producer of Parazit (The Daily Show of Iran) about using one of my pictures without getting my permission in their show today in UC Berkeley, CA. — they both are smart and funny guys. Here’s a video that my friend Hadi has recorded and posted on his Youtube channel.

Well, copyright issues again! And this time by VOA’s (Voice of America) Parazit show. Parazit used a picture of mine in this Friday (May 13) program without any permission of me. I took this picture 5 years ago in Evin prison in Tehran.

Copyright issues

I got a very interesting email from a friend of mine this morning. He sent my this link which had one of my pictures in it. I got a screen shot from the website and posted it on my Facebook immediately as I couldn’t find my name as a copyright holder of that picture anywhere in that website. Here’s that screen shot.

At the end of the screen shot you can see a picture of mine from Bay To Breakers Race from last year that I publish on my weblog. (click here to see it) – and here’s the original picture.

I sent an email to the writer of the website asking where he has found the picture. A couple hours later, when I went to talk to my lawyer and show him the website, I found out that my picture is gone from the website (or writer was taken it down).  And this is what you see right now, the same post but without my picture. And again about one hour before writing this post my friend sent another email with a link to this website which has the same issue and still my picture is up.

The website owner removed the picture as it shows above, after I publish this post.

As I have published this pictures and websites on my Facebook and more than 1000 people have seen them, I have got enough evidence to take legal action against them.
